Spring Sports

Once spring has sprung in Tallahassee, it's time to brush off the dust and hit the diamond! And going right along with Softball and Baseball, we even throw in Adult Flag Football so people can run around even more in the warming air. Of course, spring weather is also perfect for Golf and Tennis.

Youth Softball

2025 Recreational Youth Softball Program

The City of Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Youth Softball Program is for ages 6-13. A coed t-ball program is offered for players 4-6 years of age. All games may not be played at registration sites. Game sites will not be determined until all teams are finalized. In the event there are not enough teams at a park to form a league, parks may be combined with others to form a league. In most cases, practices will be held at the same location you register, unless otherwise directed. Volunteer coaches are needed for the program. The registration fee of the child on the team coached by a parent will be waived. If interested in coaching, please contact the program supervisor.

Tallahassee Fast Pitch Softball Association (TFPSA)

TFPSA offers Advance Play Leagues for players ages 8–14 years of age and a Recreation League for players 14-18 years of age. TFPSA leagues are sanctioned by Babe Ruth Softball. Practices and games will take place at Tom Brown Park.

The Advanced Play Leagues (APL) consist of the Lead Off League for ages 8-10, the APL 11-12 League, and the APL 13-14 League. These are tryout leagues with a limited number of players who are selected. The Lead Off League will consist of 48 players, while the APL 11-12 and APL 13-14 Leagues will each consist of 36 players. All players who would like to try out for these leagues must be the age of that league, reside in Leon County and attend the mandatory evaluation to be eligible for selection. All players ages 8-13, who do not make the cut are encouraged to register for the City's Parks and Recreation Minor or Major League. All 14 year old players are encouraged to register for the TFPSA High School Recreational League.

The High School Recreation League is for players who are 14-18 years old. All players who register before the deadline will be assigned to a team.

Youth Baseball

2025 Recreational Youth Baseball Program

Registration for the 2025 season will be held between November 1 - January 31. The fee for this program is $44. The season starts with practices in late February, games begin the week of March 22. T-Ball games will be held on Saturdays only for nine weeks. Atom and Cub League will play their games during the week.

Upper League Baseball

Advanced Play Leagues are tryout leagues with a limited number of players who are selected. Players must reside in Leon County and attend the evaluation to be eligible for selection. These leagues are sanctioned by Cal Ripken.

The Little, Junior and Senior Major Leagues are recreational and open to all players who register before the deadline. All players who register will be assigned to a team. Players must register at their zoned park to be eligible for All-Star consideration. These leagues are sanctioned by Dizzy Dean.

Adult Beach Volleyball

Spring Adult Beach Volleyball Program

The adult beach volleyball program is for adults 18 years of age and older. Recreational and Competitive 4v4 leagues, as well as King of the Beach and Queen of the Beach 2v2 leagues are offered. Games are played on Monday night for 4v4 leagues and Tuesday night for 2v2 leagues. Games are played at Tom Brown Park. Every 4v4 team plays one game per week for 8 weeks and every 2v2 player plays 6 sets each week for 8 weeks. Registration for the 4v4 leagues is by team. If you are interested in playing but do not have a team, please contact the program supervisor listed below.
