Fall Sports

The weather doesn't exactly cool down in the fall around these parts, but the sports offerings certainly heat up! Fall is our busiest season of the year, with offerings in both Tackle and Flag Football, Adult Softball, Girls Volleyball, Cheerleading and Fall Baseball Leagues. Fall is also a good time to pick up a new sport, so why not try your hand at Pickleball?

Youth Tackle Football

2024 Recreational Youth Tackle Football Program

The City of Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Youth Tackle Football Program is for ages 8-13. Practices will be near the location site you choose. All games will be played at James Messer Sports Complex on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. There must be at least 4 teams to have a league. Volunteer coaches are needed for the program. The registration fee of the child on the team coached by a parent will be waived. If interested in coaching, please contact the program supervisor.

In the event there are not enough teams in a park to form a league, location/park may be combined with others in order to form a league. Youth Fall Recreational Baseball

2024 Fall Recreational Baseball Program

The City of Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Upper League Baseball Council of League Presidents (COLP) offers a Fall Recreational Youth Baseball Program for players 11-12, 13-14, and 15–19 years old. The player’s age on April 30, 2025, is the player’s league age for this program. The fall season is designed to get players ready for the upcoming spring season. Practices will take place at the site the player registers, but some games may be played at other registration sites. Players may play at the park of their choice in the fall but in the spring, they must play at the park they are zoned for to be eligible for All-Stars selection. The zone map link is below.

  • Little Major League (LML) 11-12 years old
  • Junior Major League (JML) 13-14 years old
  • Senior Major League (SML) 15-19 years old

Youth Advanced Play Baseball

2024 Advanced Play Baseball Program

The City of Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Upper League Baseball Council of League Presidents (COLP) offers a Fall Advanced Play Youth Baseball Program for players 7-8 and 9-10 years old. The player’s age on April 30, 2025, is the player’s league age for this program. The fall season is designed to get players ready for the upcoming spring season. Practices and games will take place at Levy Park. This is a tryout league and only 36 players in the 7-8 league and 48 players in the 9-10 league will make the cut. Making the fall league does not guarantee a spot in the spring season. Player’s must reside in Leon County to register for these leagues. Players who do not make the league are encouraged to register for the Parks and Recreation Flag Football or Tackle Football programs.

2024 Fall Fast Pitch Softball Program

The City of Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Tallahassee Fast Pitch Softball Association (TFPSA) offers a Fall Fast Pitch Softball Program for players 8-10, 11-13, and 14-18 years old. The player’s age on December 31, 2024, is the player’s league age for this program. Practices and games will take place at Tom Brown Park.

  • Lead Off League (LOL) 8-10 years old
  • Junior League (JR) 11-13 years old
  • Senior League (SR) 14-18 years old

Adult Beach Volleyball

Adult Beach Volleyball Program

The adult beach volleyball program is for adults 18 years of age and older. Recreational and Competitive 4v4 leagues, as well as King of the Beach and Queen of the Beach 2v2 leagues are offered. Games are played on Monday night for 4v4 leagues and Tuesday night for 2v2 leagues. Games are played at Tom Brown Park. Every 4v4 team plays one game per week for 8 weeks and every 2v2 player plays 6 sets each week for 8 weeks. Registration for the 4v4 leagues is by team.
